Our pool is completely stretched to the playoffs – Fng on qualification for Major and ESL One Hamburg

Gambit Esports captain Artem Fng Barshak spoke about the peaks of the team in the qualifiers for the Dota 2 MDL Chengdu Major. The cybersportsman was also surprised at the defeat of Natus Vincere and told how the team approaches ESL One Hamburg 2019.

According to Fng, the team did not plan to greatly expand the pool of heroes in the qualifiers:

Artem Fng Barshak:

“At the group stage] we just played the default, and when it came to the playoffs, we started to pick more diverse It turned out that for the playoffs our pool was completely stretched. ”

Barshak did not expect NAVI to lose six out of eight cards:

Artem Fng Barshak:

“[Is the outcome of the qualification logical?] For the most part, yes, with the exception of NAVI. I thought that between us and NAVI or between NAVI and Positive Guys there will be a fight for a slot in a major. ”

According to Belarus, Gambit will not forcefully prepare for ESL One Hamburg:

Artem Fng Barshak:

“To be honest, our ESL is not in a strong priority, so I can’t say that we will do something supernatural: we just go for a bit of trouble, come up with some kind of minimal plan, and along the way we’ll accelerate. <…> We will not spend supernormal forces on ESL, priority will be on the major. ”

On October 8, Gambit entered the first major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2019/2020 season. In the match for the slot, the Fng team beat Positive Guys with a score of 2: 1. For 12 cards, the team involved 35 heroes.

ESL One Hamburg will be held October 25–27 in Germany. Teams will play $ 300 thousand. In addition to Gambit, the CIS will be represented by Virtus.pro and Vladimir Chappie Kuzmenko from ViKin.gg.
